Oriana Diessel
I am a Ph.D. student in theoretical physics in the group of Dr. Richard Schmidt. My research focuses on few-and many-body phenomena in ultracold gases.
Research Interests
-Ultracold Fermi gases with quantum impurities
-Spectroscopy protocols in ultracold atoms
-Polaron physics
-Nonequilibrium field theoretical methods
-Variational methods
About me
I joined the Theory Division of the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics in October 2019. Currently, I am working on Fermi polaron physics. In particular, I am developing a theoretical description of Raman and Ramsey spectroscopy protocols in ultracold atoms with quantum impurities. Furthermore, I am interested in collective phenomena arising in quantum light-matter systems.
Before joining the MPQ, I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Cologne. My MSc thesis focussed on many-body instabilities in Moiré flatband systems using the functional renormalization Group (FRG).
